Terms of Use

1. What this document is

These are the conditions for using Chronos Alarm ("the App"). By installing and using it you accept them. If you do not agree, do not use it: you can uninstall it at any time and at no cost.

2. What the app does

Chronos Alarm is an alarm application for Android, free and without ads. It offers:

• Quick alarms, daily alarms (by day of the week) and date alarms.
• Sunrise Mode: the screen lights up little by little before the alarm.
• Your own tone, gradual volume, vibration and snooze.
• Multiple timers and a stopwatch.

The App is in BETA. It may have errors and change from one version to the next.

3. The most important part: alarms can fail

I do everything I can so that alarms ring on time, but I cannot guarantee it. Whether an alarm rings also depends on things I do not control:

• The permissions you grant (exact alarms, notifications, full screen).
• Your manufacturer's battery saving, which can stop the App.
• The volume, Do Not Disturb mode and the state of your phone (off, out of battery, restarted and not yet unlocked).

Do not use Chronos Alarm as your only reminder for something you cannot afford to miss: a flight, a medication, a work shift. For that, set a second reminder.

4. It is not a medical device

Sunrise Mode simulates a sunrise with your phone screen. It is not a medical device, it does not treat or prevent any sleep disorder, and it does not replace professional advice. The articles linked from the App are for information only.

5. Licence

I grant you a personal, free, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use the App on your Android devices.

You may not:

• Copy, modify or redistribute it.
• Decompile or reverse engineer it, except where the law expressly allows you to.
• Use it for commercial purposes without my written permission.
• Remove or alter the authorship notices.

6. No account and no copy on my servers

The App needs no sign-up. Your alarms, timers and settings are stored only on your device. If you uninstall the App or clear its data, they are lost and I cannot recover them.

7. Privacy

8. Warranties and liability

The App is offered as is, free of charge and with no warranty of availability, of being free from errors, or of fitness for a particular purpose.

To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for damage arising from using the App or from not being able to use it, including damage caused by an alarm that does not ring, rings late or rings without sound.

Nothing above limits the rights granted to you by the consumer law of your country, or any liability that the law does not allow to be excluded.

9. Third-party services and material

• Firebase (Google): crash reports and, if you accept them, usage statistics. They are governed by Google's terms.
• Outfit typeface, under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
• Alarm tones included: they come from Pixabay (https://pixabay.com) and are used under the Pixabay Content License, or are my own work. Thanks to those who shared them there.

The tones you choose from your own phone belong to you or to their rights holders; the App only plays them.

10. Intellectual property

The code, design, name and graphics of the App belong to Jorge Agulló (SoftYorch), except for the third-party material listed above. All rights reserved.

11. Changes

I may update the App and these terms. I will publish the new version at this address with its date. If the change is important, I will announce it inside the App. Continuing to use it afterwards means accepting the new terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence and may bring a claim before the courts of your place of residence.
